COMMISSION MINUTES, JULY 9, 2007         

 

The Board of Washington County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, July 9, 2007, in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse.  Present:  Marcia Funke, 2nd District Commissioner; Gene Helms, 3rd District Commissioner, Vice-Chairman; and Lou Kern, County Clerk.  Absent were Alison Mueller, 1st District Commissioner and Jason Brinegar, County Attorney.

 

Vice-Chairman Helms called the meeting to order with a prayer 

 

Next regular meeting will be Monday, July 16, 2007 at 8:00 A.M.

 

Don Richardson, custodian, reported on maintenance matters.

 

Duane Bruna, Noxious Weed and Solid Waste Director, gave work report.  The commission will tour the Noxious Weed/ Solid Waste facility next week at 10:00 A.M.

 

Sheriff Bill Overbeck was given permission to sell a 1999 Tahoe.  The Public Building Commission board will meet at 1:30 P.M. next Monday and then meet with the Treanor Architects and AHRS Construction Co. at 2:00 P.M.

 

The Cloud County Commission called the board to report that Cloud County has signed an Interlocal Agreement as the administrative county for the 12th Judicial District JJA/Community Corrections and asked if Washington County could consider signing the agreement.  Washington County will not sign at this time.  A meeting of individual commissioners from each county is set for July 11 at 9:00 A.M. in the Cloud Corp. offices in Concordia.  An advisory board meeting for JJA/Community Corrections is set for July 11 at 1:30 P.M. in the meeting room of the Cloud County Courthouse.

 

David Willbrant, Public Works Administrator, gave weekly work report and updated the commission on the bridge grant projects.  Vice Chairman Helms signed transfer of earned time from Jim Finlayson to Merlin Graves.  The board approved the payment request for CDBG reimbursement for the bridge grant project.
