COMMISSION MINUTES, JULY 23, 2007         

 

The Board of Washington County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, July 23, 2007, in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse.  Present:  Alison Mueller, 1st District Commissioner; Marcia Funke, 2nd District Commissioner; Gene Helms, 3rd District Commissioner, and Lou Kern, County Clerk.  Absent was Jason Brinegar, County Attorney.

 

Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order. 

 

Next regular meeting will be Monday, July 30, 2007 at 8:00 A.M. 

 

Don Richardson, custodian, reported on repairs.

 

At 9:20 A.M. Gene Helms moved to go into executive session with Christy L’Ecuyer, Business Coordinator, for 15 minutes under the confidential data/trade secret exception.  Marcia Funke seconded and motion carried.  At 9:35 A.M. the board returned to regular session.  No action was taken. 

 

The board approved and signed official minutes for June 18 through July 16, 2007.

 

Alison Mueller moved and Marcia Funke seconded to adopt Resolution No. 14-07 establishing the 911 tax rate at 75 cents per telephone land line for 2008.  Motion carried.

 

Gene Helms moved and Marcia Funke seconded to give a 50 cent per hour pay adjustment to county employees, except summer hires and the commission, beginning August 1, 2007 due to the federal minimum wage increase.  Motion carried.

 

The commission worked on the 2008 budget.

 

Ellen Anderson, Interim Director, 12th Judicial Adult Community Corrections and JJA Services, presented amendment to the 3 year comprehensive plan for adult community corrections and juvenile services.  Marcia Funke moved and Gene Helms seconded to sign the amendment.  Motion carried. Kathryn Carter spoke with the board about the pending risk reduction initiative grant application that would be used toward reducing the risk of offenders on community corrections.
