Kansas Attorney General Carla J. Stovall established Kansas' AMBER Plan in September 2002. Current Kansas Attorney General Steve Sox continues to hope that the statewide alert system will
deter potential abductors and quickly mobilize citizens to contact authorities with helpful information.
