COMMISSION MINUTES, JUNE 16, 2008
The Board of Washington
County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, June 16, 2008, in the
commission room at the Washington County Courthouse. Present: Alison Mueller,
1st District Commissioner; Marcia Funke, 2nd District
Commissioner; and Lou Kern, County Clerk. Absent: Gene Helms, 3rd
District Commissioner and Jason Brinegar, County Attorney.
Vice Chairwoman Funke called
the meeting to order.
Next regular meeting will be Monday,
June 23, 2008 at 8:30 A.M.
The board approved bills and
payroll totaling $246,770.65.
The board signed change order
no. 2007-131.
Becky Pannbacker, Washington
County Senior Citizens Director, presented 2009 budget request.
Sheriff Bill Overbeck set a
bid opening for the sale of a county vehicle.
Bid opening is set for July 7 at 2:00 P.M.
Alison Mueller moved and
Marcia Funke seconded to appoint Lou Kern to another term on the 12th
Judicial District Juvenile/Community Correction Advisory board. Motion carried.
Duane Bruna, Noxious Weed and
Solid Waste Director, reported on routine maintenance matters. Duane and Frank Durst will spend Wednesday
in Dickinson County assisting with tornado damage sorting.
Keyna Steinbrock, Three
Rivers Specialist, presented agency information and 2009 budget request.
Sheila Ouellette,
Communications Director, will apply for Wireless 911 grant funding to assist
with replacing outdated equipment.
At 11:00 A.M. the board met
with department heads to discuss 2009 budget requests and salary
increases. County employees will
receive a 50 cent pay increase beginning July 20 and may anticipate a 75 cent
increase in 2009. A department head
meeting will be scheduled on the 3rd Monday of each month beginning
at 11:00 A.M.
The board adjourned at 12:10
P.M. for lunch and reconvened at 1:00 P.M.
Joni Spellmeier, Director,
and Lori Huber, office manager, RSVP, asked for budget consideration in 2009.
