COMMISSION MINUTES, JUNE 23, 2008

The Board of Washington County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, June 23, 2008, in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse. Present: Alison Mueller, 1^st District Commissioner; Marcia Funke, 2^nd District Commissioner; : Gene Helms, 3^rd District Commissioner and Lou Kern, County Clerk. Absent: Jason Brinegar, County Attorney.

Chairman Helms called the meeting to order with prayer.

Next regular meeting will be Monday, June 30, 2008 at 8:30 A.M.

Chairman Helms signed payroll change notices for the Clerk’s and Treasurers’ office employees effective July 20, 2008. Chairman Helms signed payroll change notices for James Baustert due to lay off effective June 21, 2008.

Everett Lutjemeier, Washington County Hospital Administrator, presented 2009 budget request.

Meyler Gibbs, Washington City Councilmember, presented 2009 budget request for ambulance services.

Arlene Dague presented 2009 budget request for the Washington County Historical Society.

Marilyn Kolle, Register of Deeds; Francine Regan, County Appraiser, Ann Hawk, Deputy County Treasurer; Lou Kern, County Clerk; Deb Swoboda, Emergency Management Coordinator, presented 2009 budget requests. Sheila Ouellette, Communications Director, presented 2009 budget requests for Communications, Sheriff, Jail, E911 and 911. Board received budget requests from Gloria Moore, Tourism Director, and Christy L’Ecuyer, Business Coordinator.

The board placed a call to Jason Brinegar, County Attorney, for assistance with a personnel issue but were informed that Mr. Brinegar could not make himself available.

The Commission viewed the Emergency Management office in the basement of the Law Enforcement Center. The State Fire Marshal has ordered that files being stored in the stairwell must be moved. The files will be placed in a downstairs laundry room for the time being.

The board adjourned at noon for lunch and reconvened at 1:00 P.M.

David Willbrant, Public Works Administrator, gave weekly work report. Chairman Helms signed payroll change notices for the July raises. Marcia Funke moved to sign an agreement for hangar space with Roth Ag Air. Alison Mueller seconded and motion carried.

The commission adjourned at 2:30 P.M.
