COMMISSION MINUTES, APRIL 5, 2010
The Board of Washington County Commissioners met in regular
session on Monday, April 5, 2010 in the commission room at the Washington
County Courthouse. Present: Alison Mueller, 1st District
Commissioner, Roger Otott, 2nd District Commissioner; Gene Helms, 3rd
District Commissioner, Chairman, Elizabeth Hiltgen,
Chairman Helms called the meeting to order with prayer.
The next regular meeting will be Monday, April 12, 2010 at 8:30 AM.
The board approved bills and payroll totaling $244,349.83.
The board approved and signed change order no. 2009-92.
Don Alldredge, custodian, updated the board on routine maintenance matters.
At 9:35 A.M. Alison Mueller moved to go into executive session with Sheila Ouellette and Theresa Herrs, to discuss non elected personnel. Roger Otott seconded and motion carried. At 10:10 A.M. the board returned to regular session. Sheila was given permission to advertise for help.
Trey Springer, ING representative, introduced herself to the board and visited with various department heads.
Duane Bruna, Noxious Weed and Solid Waste Director, reported that the new building is up and the new floor is in the office and Don Alldredge has waxed the floor. The 2 ton yellow truck is to be advertised for sale by sealed bid. Water drainage issues at the transfer station were discussed.
Lyle and Norma Hennerberg asked about putting up a fence around the State Line Church cemetery. The commission decided that they had no involvement.
David Willbrant, Public Works Administrator, gave weekly work report and discussed various complaints received. Bob Dameron, Kahn Culverts, Gary Montre, Welborn Sales and Emily Spencer, Metal Culverts were present at the 11:00 A.M. bid opening for the purchase of corrugated metal pipe, signs, flexible markers and posts. No decision was made. David is to make a recommendation next week.
The board recessed at noon for lunch and reconvened at 1:00 P.M.
The board discussed various issues with Elizabeth Hiltgen, County Attorney.
Christy L’Ecuyer, Business Coordinator, presented draft of the brochure that Gloria Moore and she have been working on. Christy has asked Lori Huber to facilitate the Interagency Coordinating Council. Next meeting of the ICC is April 23. Christy will be out of the office April 7, 8 and 9.
