Area Public Transportation
Twin Valley Development Services is a non-profit (501c3) agency which provides education and training services to learning and physically disabled.
In cooperation with the Kansas Department of Transportation they also provide public transportation for their clients and citizens of Washington and Marshall County. This is a great service for the general public and/or a group that has transportation needs. The transportation service will travel to the citizen's town to pick him/her up and take him/her to their destination.
There are a few restrictions such as they will not carry alcohol or firearms; they will not transport to gambling facilities and there is no smoking on the bus. Otherwise, this service may be used for anything including trips to the airport, doctor visits or shopping.
If a citizen is interested in making a trip, they must call in and be put on the list for the trip. Twin Valley requires notice at least 24 hours in advance, but a week or longer is best. The phone number to schedule trips is 785-747-2551 and is published weekly in the Washington County newspaper.
If you have a specific and recurring need, Twin Valley will work with you as the need develops. Contact Joan Brabec, Director of Administration at 785-747-2251 Extension 223 if further information is needed.
