The Washington County Veterans Memorial Airport
The 8' by 16' brick mural will be dedicated on June 14th,September 11, 2011.
The American Legion and Washington County Airport Board approved the sign and monument at the airport. The Washington
Rotary Club's
Centennial Project of erecting a replica of the Washington Monument was placed at the airport where the plane was once located.
The Sign and Veterans Directory was funded by donations and fundraising efforts through the sale of bricks.

The directory is like some cemetary directories used in Washington County.
Any veteran who has lived in Washington County and served honorably is eligible to go into the directory, shown in center. There is/was no cost to place a veterans name in the directory. A special roller in the directory is dedicated to those from the county who were killed in action.
